At the corner

Sydney March 2013

Standing on the corner watching all the girls go by
Standing on the corner watching all the girls go by
Brother you don’t know a nicer occupation
Matter of fact, neither do I
Than standing on the corner watching all the girls
Watching all the girls, watching all the girls go by

… “Standing on the Corner” written by Frank Loesser and published in 1956. It was introduced by Shorty Long, Alan Gilbert, John Henson, and Roy Lazarus in the Broadway musical, The Most Happy Fella. A recording of the song by The Four Lads was popular in 1956: http://youtu.be/rlbGQ0xKZbY

Although the version I remember was by Dean Martin: http://youtu.be/xc5DUZintK4

    • Thanks. Camera fully setup before I got in position at about 1 metre (manual focus 50mm lens). Best of 4 shots before the light turned green and we all started walking. Another one from the hip. 🙂

  1. What would you like to do when you grow up son? Mmm…stand on the corner and watch all the girls go by. It’s a great occupation Dad…don’t you like it? Great shot!
