dock of the bay

Sittin’ in the mornin’ sun
I’ll be sittin’ when the evenin’ comes
Watchin’ the ships roll in
Then I watch ’em roll away again, yeah

I’m sittin’ on the dock of the bay
Watchin’ the tide roll away, oooh
I’m just sittin’ on the dock of the bay

…Wastin’ time.

(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay (1967). Otis Redding.

This week, the topic at The Weekly Photo Challenge is Time, and I’m honoured to be the guest host. I hope you’re enjoying the challenge. There’s still time to join in.

Coming up to the weekend, I hope you all find the time to do all the nothing that you want.

  1. Congrats on being guest host again, Dragon. A great theme too. Wasting time…pity how that is often frowned upon. Wasting time is also a time to relax and recharge. we all need it πŸ™‚

  2. I was delighted to see that our mutual friend Amy has a link to your blog in her recent post!Your fabulous work does merit it !I had already enjoyed your recent exceptional photos in b/w.Glad to see you back πŸ™‚

  3. Life is totally too short to drink bad coffee – or tea – or lemonade – or something stronger! πŸ˜€

What a great way to rest your tired feet on a hot day, lie back on a park bench! Good angle for that picture, and unusual for you. You usually like faces. So even wrinkly feet are not free of being captured when you’re about!! πŸ˜€

  4. HI Draco, I have been meaning to find TIME to come here to thank you for the subject of the photo challenge. I loved doing the TIME post – especially since my blog’s byline is ‘timetravelling’ lol…. a great challenge with many diverse and wonderful takes on it.

love all your pics, esp of the guy epitomised by ‘sitting on the dock of the bay’… love that song, and great pic to go with it. πŸ™‚

    • Thanks. I thought TIME was a strong word, that could be used in generic and specific terms, suitable for the challenge. It got quite a good response.
I wish I had more time to do nothing. πŸ™‚

  5. LB says:

β€œTime you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.” …. true, true, true!
While I’m a big fan of living in the season, I’m definitely looking forward to hanging out on the bench like the guy in the last image.
