Over at the Weekly Photo challenge, the topic is Dinnertime and we are asked to show a picture of a meal. I thought I’d contribute in my usual way. 🙂
I agree with Sophia Lauren 😉
Yes, a loud vacuum cleaner. 🙂
Funny and very appropriate photos for those captions!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Nice!
Thank you. 🙂
And very well done on this challenge in your usual way. Everyone looks like they are enjoying their food. Well, except for that guy and his chips…it looks like he spotted your camera sneaking up on him 😉 But sharing is caring, and food is so much more enjoyable with company, as your Monica Bellucci quote shows 😀
Thanks. He probably saw me eyeing off his chips and got v-e-r-y suspicious. LOL 🙂 🙂 🙂
Good food and good company go hand in hand.
I ‘ve never thought I could inhale spaghetti……!
Love this post
Well, if Sophia can inhale spaghetti and still look sophisticated and beautiful, then we all can try it. 🙂 🙂 🙂
For sure!
🙂
Now there’s a guy contemplating the meaning and purpose of something 😉
That look on his face is so deep and intense. I hope it wasn’t the food. 🙂
So much for that restaurant review!
LOL 🙂
Food for the body is not enough….I concur!
Absolutely. Life is more complex than that.
😀
Le partage est une nourriture qui fait renaître l’espérance… 🙂
C’est vrai. Merci.
I have always really really really liked the little girl and her spaghetti…that’s such a cool shot.
On a dragon-food related note: I just read (New York Times, maybe?) that perhaps the best croissants in the world are made in Melbourne. Maybe you could write off a photo excursion there as “research.”
That was one of my earliest candids, and I’ve been trying to catch that magic again ever since. 🙂
Yes, I have a list and tried a couple when I was there. More saved for the next trip. There’s a fine line between tax deduction and tax rort, but I’m a creative guy. 🙂
You are food for the soul…
You are far too generous, but thank you. I appreciate it.
Have a good day ahead, and your next coffee is on me.
Absolutely…
🙂

le tue foto e le didascalie..grandiose, come sempre
buon lunedì
Di preciso. Sono d’accordo con te. Buona giornata. 🙂
We love your way, I am sure you already know. 😉
Thank you very much. 🙂
Hello dear Draco, I’ve been far from blogging for a while but I take a look for your pictures. And has always I’ve seen beautiful thing. These place is a gold mine for you and for our eyes. the little girl is so cute, a usual posture for a child but great taken but your hand and cam. Grosse bises and a nice week ahead
Thank you so much, Sophie. I spend less time blogging as well. Life gets so busy, but it’s always good to hear from you. I hope everything is going well for you now after last year.
They haven’t banned me from photographing people in that shopping complex yet, so hopefully, more photos to come. 🙂 Have a great week too.
Yes Life is better for me now :-D. My new job is less stressful , my new house where I am in peace with nature around. The things fall in order.
I hope they let you enter in that shop yet a long time because you go back with wonderful life pics 🙂
Grosses bises
Good. Glad to hear the job stress is resolved.
John Q. Tullius is so right! 🙂 The kid and Spaghetti capture is an awarding winning photo! 🙂
It’s a great quote isn’t it? That child eating spaghetti was one on my earliest candid shots. I’ve been trying to catch that magic again ever since. 🙂
A great quote accompanies a great photo! Can’t get better than this one. 🙂
I remember this photo. 🙂 Thank you so much for re-posting your earliest candid shot, Dragon!
Thanks for remembering it, Amy. 🙂
I am so loving your photos and quotes! Particularly the one about chocolate! 😋😹
Thank you very much. Well, if the tenth person chooses to lie, then that means more chocolate for the other nine. Win – win. 🙂
That last photograph is just brilliant! A moment captured beautifully!
Thank you so much. When I loaded that one on my computer screen it made me smile. 🙂
I too, agree with Sophia Loren! 🙂
Wonderful images, Lignum, especially the first one.
Yes, if Sophia can do it, we all can. 🙂
Thank you very much, Lisa.
the spaghetti shot and quote made my day.
Thanks. They go so well together. 🙂
Every one a winner! The second and last are my favorites
Thanks, Lisa. Yes, I’d be suspicious if I thought someone was eyeing my hot chips. 🙂
Great set of shots as always – spaghetti girl has always been one of my favourites. Interesting note about Melbourne doughnuts, though I don’t have a sweet tooth 🙂
Thanks, Lisa. The comment was about croissants, not doughnuts. One has less sugar but more butter than the other. An important difference. LOL 🙂 🙂 🙂
I like sweetened dark chocolate. I’m a choco-hound!
Me, too. Always looking for that perfect taste. 🙂
The second gentleman looks like he prepared to defend his feast with whatever means necessary. Food is both a need and a pleasure. My acupuncturist recently told me that a huge appetite for food (which I have) symbolizes an huge appetite for life.
That’s clearly the truth in regards to you, maybe not others. 🙂 I always defend my hot chips against predators, well at least those older than about 8 years. 😉
Ah back at the QVB. Wonderful!
Thanks.
I love your take on the challenge and your b&w shots. Food for thought and spaghetti girl are my favourites. 🙂
Thank you. A bit of the dramatic and some fun in the one post. 🙂
great post in response to WPC-dinnertime!
Thank you.
🙂
Love the spaghetti shot. And the “I want some more”. Brilliant post.
Thanks. I really love getting these candid shots. 🙂 Sadly, I have so many “almost” shots.
I hear ya 😉
🙂
The bloke with the chips and his “balanced diet” is certainly onto you and I love the little girl, I’ve always shied away from eating spaghetti in public, now she has shown me how I may have another go at it…
That balanced diet of his resembles mine, sometimes. 🙂
I would like photographic evidence of your eating spaghetti via the gravity method. Please!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Oh dear, no way, I tend to try and stay well away from the front end of any camera, but my Jack has a disconcerting way of sneaking me into his shots, but then I definitely forbid him to use them…
Spoilsport. 😀
🙂
lol, the guy in the second photo looks like he is almost passing you some more salad 😀 I was sure you will come up with a great selection of dinnertime photos from your chocolate box 🙂 btw, love that quote about 9 out of 10 people loving chocolate lol 🙂
Thanks, Alex, but that man was eating hot potato chips, and he definitely looked like he was protecting his food. LOL 🙂 🙂 🙂
Yes, that chocolate quote is magic! 🙂
it’s not every day that I’m the optimist in a conversation… LOL 😀 ok, so he’s passing you the potato chips then and looks worried you don’t want mayo with them ;P it’s the coolest thing when a photo can be seen differently 🙂
I’ll take my hot chips any way I can get them. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thanks, Alex. All photos are open to many interpretations.
And your usual way is always splendid! Love the last pic Mr D 😄
Thank you, Julie. I try to be different. 🙂
Fantastic series capturing personalities around the table, LD. The spaghetti shot remains my favorite and the lighting on all is very special.
Thank you very much. I always like seeing the spaghetti girl and wonder if I can catch such a moment again.
As you would know, the QVB shots are largely possible due to the massive glass ceiling that you would recall. On sunny days, I do several circuits to make full use of the light. 🙂
A superb gallery.
Thank you very much.
Sophia Loren must have had lot’s of gas from vacuuming her spaghetti 😛 Hehe! Lovely photo series as always! Amazing what moments you capture and how expressive the portraits are! 😀 Love them all!
LOL. If she had a gas problem, most of the men around her wouldn’t have cared. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thank you so much.
Got to love that small Sophia Loren, Draco 🙂 🙂
Who wouldn’t? 🙂
All brilliant shots Lignum and if looks could kill, well that guy with the hot chips and daggers out of his head has you marked!
I know, but in the same situation I would have been the same. 🙂
Ah yes, food, meeting friends and eating out…a favourite of mine! And what money there is to made from us filling our tummies with food we didn’t need, but we enjoyed anyway! 😀
I’m guessing the lady with the chocolate didn’t just see you coming, but posed?!! She looks like she likes you!
I love the way that little girl gets the spaghetti in!! I had spaghetti yesterday evening, tried some made of rice flour. I love pasta, but rarely have any as it seems to pile on pounds on. I’m hoping the gluten free one might not do that – but that could be and illusion. I was all out of practice in the eating, I should have piled it in like that little girl! I did at least remember to inhale it like a vacuum cleaner….haha…very good quote that one! 😀
Food can be a pleasure or a sin. Regardless, it is a necessity so I just enjoy it.
The lady with the chocolate is the owner of the store. She posed for me, and then I bought all those bars. 🙂 🙂 🙂
I love spaghetti, but never ever wear a white shirt when doing so. You just know it will end badly. 🙂
Haha..yes…large napkin, or better still, a pelican baby bib – that will catch the pasta!! 😀
Yes that would help. Then there’s the splash of sauce on the face – actually, pasta eating in public is a skill. 🙂
Reminds me of my childhood and eriste (Turkish spagetti, well, sort of) days… Thanks a lot.
My pleasure.
i love spaghetti! looking forward for more of your blogs 🙂
Thank you.
So great!
Thanks.
Love your blog!
Thank you.
